Electronics pallet business, where we sell barely used electronics at a fraction of their original cost. This initiative not only makes technology more accessible to our community but also significantly reduces electronic waste by giving these products a second life.

Identified Solution

❤️ Need

My experience in Walmart’s customer service allowed me to see the sheer volume of lightly used electronics being returned and often discarded, contributing to electronic waste. BK Products was born from this realization, offering refurbished electronics at affordable prices while reducing waste and promoting sustainability. This initiative gives a second life to electronics, making technology accessible and environmentally friendly.

At the same time, the increasing volume of electronic waste poses a significant environmental challenge. BK Products addresses these intersecting needs by providing barely used electronics at reduced prices, promoting both economic accessibility and environmental sustainability by extending the lifecycle of electronic products.

  • Designed and Managed Inventory System: Created a comprehensive Google Sheet to organize and track product conditions, pricing, sales, and performance metrics for the team.
  • Analyzed and Categorized Products: Personally evaluated each product’s condition using a custom scale (new, clean, repairable) to set fair, prorated prices.
  • Competitive Pricing Research: Researched competitors’ prices extensively to ensure our products were always priced below the lowest available, while maintaining profitability.
  • Ensured Transparency: Kept the Google Sheet updated in real-time so all partners could access up-to-date information on inventory, sales, and margins.
  • Maintained Profitability: Strategically balanced competitive pricing with profitability, achieving a minimum margin of 242% across all sales.
  • Learned Key Skills: Gained experience in data analysis, organization, collaboration, and decision-making through hands-on work with real-world inventory and sales challenges.
